Hey guys,
the driver side back door power lock doesn’t work. The lock itself works fine, I just soldered the driver & passenger door switches and all the other door locks Work and the window switch on that door works as well.
what would be the specific part that I would need to fix or replace to address this?
thanks

Pull that lock and see if it's getting power AND ground to it when the lock switch is pressed. If it is, replace the lock actuator. If not, come back and we'll go further. That's the best place to start though.

Do you know of a good video showing how to do that?
Am I correct in that you want me to pull the switch out? & then what is the best way to test to see if it is getting power?

You’ll need to get to the back of switch where the wires plug in. You can then use a multimeter to test the wires for electricity when you operate the switch. I had an issue like this. After I soldered the drivers door switch the rear passenger door lock still didn’t operate. It turned out I had a broken wire in the rubber boot by where the door hinges.

Drivers door wire harness seems to be a pretty common problem. I cut and soldered in a 8 inch patch cable with 18 wires right where it bends. You have to use a quality copper stranded wire that is meant to flex and bend. Also the door lock switch control on the drivers door is a common failure. They can be had on ebay for $20-30 bucks
