Also don't shift into 4hi or 4lo on pavement..only when offroad in say dirt, gravel and so on..You will tear up a transfer case running in 4wd on pavement.

You will not tear up your transfer case in 4HI Full time, if your transfer case has that. 4HI part time will tear it up on pavement.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's because of driveline binding right?

Well I dont plan on driving it in 4wd on pavement anyways. Now if going offroad what would be the 4hi and 4lo be used for. I just want to make sure I dont screw anything up.

if you are crawling pretty slow 4lo is what you need...if your goin through mud i just leave it in two wheel drive, and if i have troubles i just pull 4hi and get out...and 4hi is just when you need extra traction in some mud, rocks, snow etc...

i heard it isnt good to go through mud when you have it engaged in 4wd?

trails and or grass i'd leave it in 2wd...especially since you have a nice set of a/t's...if its overly difficult i would consider using 4hi, but until i lose traction i stay in 2wd...but 4hi would be fine if you want to use it
