Default Dome and gauge fuses not happy

Im having an ongoing issue with my dome and gauge fuses. They both will blow quite frequently (usually within a couple minutes after startup) with the gauge fuse blowing when the dome fuse is in but the dome fuse will blow regardless of the gauge fuse being in. Yesterday I had a few minutes of running time before the fuses blew and I noticed the gauges would cut out if the door jamb switch was closed (door open). When I opened the door jamb switch circuit (closed the door) the gauges would come back on.
I put a jumper on the IP ground with no change.

90 xj 4.0 has power options but I swapped it all out for manual doors windows etc

do you have a trailer plug on the rear? If so, see if it isn't a wiring nightmare.

I'll check it first thing after work today.

it was ugly...unplugged it and after I started it up I opened the drvr door and pop, both dome and gauge fuses at the same time. I unplugged the door jamb switch and popped the dome fuse when I put the neg terminal back on the battery. That's as far as I got today. I have now unplugged or don't have a radio clock vanity lights overhead console and tow plug. With what I said earlier being the result

I think I got it. It seems to be a combo of the drvr door jamb switch and the floor lights (the ones by the tweeters under the dash) I had them plugged in one at a time and pop, but when they're both unplugged I have yet to pop anything. I ran outa 10A fuses so I guess I'll call it for the day. Might look at my FSM if anything else. Thanks cruiser I should be good from here. Until next time my friend

Well I figured I'd update with the fix. The 2 door jamb switches on the passenger side weren't hooked up to anything and it looked like the wires where pulled out of the connector somehow but I swapped the front with a harness from my 94 parts xj (connector was the same). The back one I just unplugged cuz the 94 didn't have jamb switches in the back. In retrospect I should have known something was up on the jamb switches but I hardly ever go on the passenger side. it didn't slap me when n the face and yell fix me lol one more thanks cruiser ur awesome!!
