your muffler?

Have you cut off your exhaust pipe and just dump it right out of muffler with a down pipe?

Last week when I had my Flow master installed I told the muffler guy to cut off my tailpipe and dump it out at the muffler with a down pipe, he refused, saying the fumes would rise into the cab, I thought this was total BS.

Mine dumps right after the cat, atleast untill I finish fabricating the rest. There are some fumes that get inside the cab while not moving but almost non while moving.

I just have an 18" straight pipe coming outta the back of my FM 40, I haven't noticed any fumes inside, I do know that extra 18"s made a huge difference in the sound of the muffler, without it, it sounded like a riceburner with a coffee can muffler, and I HATE tuner cars! lol

I came in here expecting something totally different from this thread. I was disappointed.

Back on topic, when I get ready to fab up a new exhaust for mine, I fulled intend to just have it turn down after the muffler.

I thought about dumping mine but the guy that does emissions on it every year will probably say he can't test it even though there would still be a pipe to stick the sniffer in..
