Volvo injectors, the 850 and the 80 if I remenber right. I just did they from the 703 and checked the ohms and rebuild them but didn't do a flow test like I should of, make a noticable difference in idle but I also adjusted tps, cleaned iac, and iat. I still have a rough stop idle but I think its from my mounts since they are poly.

So the swap worked well? What were the benefits?

Yea so far they have worked well, only have had them on for about a week with not as much driving as I usually do. Its seem to have the idle smooth out and throttle response to be better, mpg wise I don't know yet haven't filled up on this tank yet since swap and are about 110 with 12 gallons left I think gauge don't read right till empty and light comes on then I know I got 5 gallons left.

No mileage gain. Smoother idle. No performance gain.

This is about what I experience. I've had the upgrade injectors in for about 8 months now. I do get better mileage on long highway trips, but around town it's a tad worse with the newer injectors.

I'll probably just clean out my old 1 hole style injectors when I replace the O rings

Bad idea to keep the stock injectors on a 1988... metal center section comes away from the plastic parts and you get a high pressure fuel leak on top of your exhaust manifold.

Hey, if your handle is "unidentifiedbomb", keeping the stock Simmons Decca might be just the thing...

haha are there any injectors with the same pressure but with 4 hole? I regret ever trying the ford 19s since it was a huge pain to go back to stock, at least for me

I never really checked anything, but I thought the Ford "yellows", were OK. In any case this is long and rambleing, but has a number of positive testimonials. > https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/199...r-swap-163105/

The Ford "yellow stick" 700's and 710's and the Volvo 746's are pretty much the same injector except the Volvo ones can use the "clip nut" like stock XJ injectors. A lot of the renix guys seem to like them. Also the grayish-black 702's which also come from Volvo's and SAAB's are the same.

Thanks! Once again, great info. You didn't mention you might be able to sell some! With the clip nut, the matching flow and (ohm's) resistance, and experience a number of us have had, the 290 155 746 is good for 87-90 Renix Jeeps.
I'm not gonna bend my noggin changing CC's to Lbs. off the flow chart for the others at this time!

Divide
CC's by (about)10.5 to get Lbs.

With my limited knowledge here, I'm not sure a couple of ohms makes much of a difference. 14 instead of 16 might mean a little more current through the ECU. It's rare the transistors that handle that current fail, but they do fail, at least sometimes.
18.5 Lbs/Hr, 16 ohm with a clip-nut and EV-1 connectors is good for 87-90 Renix Jeeps.

A slightly higher flow, like the 703's will be "trimmed" out fine by a good 02 sensor. Until the 02 kicks in it will be rich, and being rich will not help it warm up. (my first 10 minutes is steep down-hill).

Well since I use starting fluid to clean off and flush the injectors I sell I have to do it outside and winter hasn't been good. Plus since it's in a spray can it can freeze your fingers pretty quick in the winter even with rubber gloves on...I'm not sure about that chart as it shows the 703's having a lower cc/min than the 710s or 746s
