Default defrost.

My defroster for the front windshield does not seem to be working. The truck blows heat but not on the windshield so my window fogs up, gets really annoying. was just wondering if anyone has run into this problem, the vehicle is a 1997 jeep cherokee sport 4.0L. Thanks guys!

I've kinda had the same problem. My air only blows on the defroster, which sucks because I'd like to feel warmth on my face in the winter. Try checking into your dash control, and if that is good, see if the flap that directs the air is stuck. Best of luck to ya!

In your case check the vacuum reservoir behind the front bumper on the passenger side for cracks or if the line came off. If that is ok check the small vacuum line where it connects to the large black vacuum line near where the A/C expansion valve is mounted on the firewall.

^^ x2 - had the same issue, hose had come off, hooked it back up and works like it should.

albrough - unhook the vacuum reservoir behind the front bumper on the passenger side. When unhooked it should only blow on the windshield. If its not, probably is a stuck vent. That would be my first shot at fixing this. Food for thought.
