I've looked at lots of pictures but I just can't tell.
I apologize for the blurry picture (cell phone).

yes and to also tell there should be a "35C" marking on the top of one of the sides.

I saw that picture but the tiny little circle thing on the right, indented part threw me off. The D35 circle thing looks tiny in that picture. Tinier than what's on mine at least.

In some info thread I read that the D35C doesn't mean c-clip but rather means "custom", meaning it came unfinished. What does that mean lol

It's a sticky with stock Cherokee specs over on Jeep Forum.

Rear Axles
(Note on Dana 35 axles sometimes referred to as Dana 35C - The "C" does not stand for c-clip. It stands for "custom" meaning it came from Dana unfinished.)

Some had the rubber plug some had the screw plug that takes a 3/8 ratchet to remove. That's all that is. Most the 8.25s have a rubber plug so some people get them confused but like a earlier post there should be a stamp on the housing that says 35c on one side.
Also most xjs with ABS have the 35

Either way, I'm pretty sure most, if not all, D35s were c-clip. And they are just plain weak sauce, unless wheeled carefully or just street driven.

not all xj 35's are c clip, any renix had the non c clip model. locked plenty of them up for family and friends needless to say whenever given the opportunity to drop the 35 and upgrade, do it! mine was gone after owning my xj for 2 months lol.
