Default CPS question

So my truck stalled two nights ago and and it was the first night in almost a month that is decided to rain...well it rained hard. So I'm crawling around in 1 foot of mud and final I tow my truck to the dealer because I'm just sick of trying to track down my problem. So the dealer told me i have a bad CPS. Does this sound right for a truck thats stalling? I did a tuneup about 3 months ago when it was stalling regularly. Stalling stopped for 3 weeks. Then replaced muffler and tail pipe 15 miles later it stalls again. After 15 minutes of trying to start it it starts up.

Also there where three recalls on my XJ the master cylinder, rotors, and airbags.

Yea it could be the CPS (crank position sensor) Mine stalled for no reason at times and after I changed it I had no problems

in your case it could also be a camshaft position sensor, and it could be a coil going out.

Mine did that it turned out it was the coil. The black cover over it wouldn't let the humidity out and cracked the coil when it got cold. Was so bad I couldnt even park over a puddle. I replaced it and left the cover off and havent had a problem since.
