Corner Lights/ Turn Signals

The other day I was thinking of doing something with the corner lights up front. I wanted to either make them blink with the turn signal, or switch out the lenses to clear and change the bulb color to a blue or other color. I have no idea where to start with the blinker setup, so has anyone done that? For the bulb change, is that legal since they don't actually blink or really serve a purpose? Also, is there any way to make the blinkers brighter? They are pretty dim and I don't wanna end up in an accident. I was gonna try an LED bulb but that might not work with the 23 year old wiring.

not sure if these are the ones you're referring to, but I like them the most. nice, clean, and subtle (scroll down)
I'm sure they have a full clear signal package somewhere

Mad Xj's website is down as of 4/27/2012 but they had an article on wiring the turn signals and markers to flash alternately.I've done 2 or 3 of them. Really easy. I'll poke around and see if I can find something for ya.

Atmos, I've seen those before. That's what I wanna get. I just don't know if blue bulbs would be legal or not.
freegdr, I thought about that. The bulbs are probably startin to go on it. I don't know the last time they were changed.
cruiser54, If you could find that it would be awesome. I thought wiring them to blink alternately would be too complicated for me since I'm not too good with electrical stuff. I'm more of a mechanical guy. Even wiring them to blink at the same time would be cool.

If you could find it let me know. You can either type it up and pm me or scan it and send the document to me through my e-mail if you like. Whatever is good for you. If it's simple I might just tackle it this weekend. Thanks!

EDIT: whoops I'm full of it. In your state it may be illegal. Here's the law from Ontario:

Intermittent red light restricted 62(14); Red light in front (15); Vehicles of firefighters (16); Flashing blue light on snow-removal equipment (31); Restriction on use of flashing blue light (32)

So up here if you wanted to run blue markers they'd have to be non-flashing.

That's actually a good point. I didn't even think of that. If I did make them flash I would keep them amber though. If not, I might make them a red or blue. Or even get a little risky and go green. Put a nice LED in there. I can't have a flashing blue unless I'm a volunteer firefighter (my friend has a ton on his car) or a flashing red unless I'm an undercover cop or a fire chief. Otherwise, I'm not too sure on the law. A blue would probably be fine since headlights and fog lights can be blue.

Yeah. I get reminded every time I ride the ferry to the local giant island. A sign reads "PLEASE YIELD TO VEHICLES WITH FLASHING GREEN LIGHTS - VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT"

It's a half hour trip across the lake/river though... one would think that by the time they make it over (and after spending half an hour in line) the excitement would kinda be over...

Yeah, that's unfortunate.
