I currently have a 87 XJ and during the Transmission install when I was trying to get the Dip stick tube inserted I broke one of the connectors on one of the radiator lines See pictures (not sure what it is called) i looked at pull a part and they did not have any that were close to the same year, so my Question is will a newer one work on the older Cherokee looks like the newer ones have 4 connections instead of 3, I have the part off of a 96 engine that would be easy to pull but want to know if it will work first, I have another 87 that has one the part that I need but dont want to have to drain the system on the other 87 as it is a running vehicle, if the newer one will not work then I will pull the one from the other 87 but would rather not if the other one will work. I would At least like to know what the part is and does?

I wasn't totally sure that's what you needed from your photos. Glad we got it.

Next time you need a radiator, we can really clean up that spider web of old hoses.
