From someone that hasn't done it, but wants to, I think that it really depends on what you want to do with your rig and how much time you have.

From what I have read, noone has regretted doing the coils in the rear.

If you want to know what it can do for a Jeep check out the black XJ in this thread.

the only time going to coils in the rear would be bad is if you don't do the proper research beforehand.

also, use some limiting straps.

if you don't take time to do plenty of research and learn how the link lengths and placement have an effect on handling/ anti squat, you will be better off sticking with leaves

Excellent advice.

You'll have to deal with lots of compromises .... pick the ones that are most important to you.

If you tried to do that w/leafs, you'd be flopped on the side. Plus, this rig has johhny joints on all the control arms. The flex this rig has is crazy.

the point of control arms is to CONTROL FLEX.

I agree with 89eliminator...that is unsafe. that is too much flex for an xj, and the person who built it apparently knows nothing about limiting straps.

I agree. He should've had limiting straps on. Point is, coils perform much better than leaves.
