when i got the codes off my jeep it was 12 22 55 the 12 means the batt has been recently disconnected, which it hasnt. ??? but the one that im worried about is the 22. that means that the coolant sensor or whatever isnt in range? my jeep has been running a little rich and wasting my gas.
. what is wrong

ok. i know what the coolant sensor is, but is it bad? my check engine light is not on. just running rich. i figured it would make sense that it is bad, because it would act like its always trying to warm up, and constantly feed the engine more gas than normal while im driving.

thats ok. its already rattling around inside and needs to be replaced. im just tired of not getting the good mileage i used to. i started smelling a real strong gas smell that would burn my nose, and my mileage went from about 20 mpg to 14 or 15. then i got that code 22.
Hello, same trouble going on with mine 95 sport 4.0, yesterday i replaced temp sensor and code was still there, so i left battery disconnected for the night to see if the code would still be there and yes it is, also thats my 3rd sesor i have tried but the code never goes away. other than that only code my jeep has is 23. ANY THOUGHTS AT ALL?

sounds like you need to verify the integrity of the wires going from the sensor to the ecm/pcm, you may just be dealing with a frayed or broken wire somewhere along the way
i moved intake temp sensor to airbox now the code went away.. now im just trying to track down the code 22 problem... its not fan relay switch or sensor or 2nd gauge sensor on back of block....
