Clearcoat remover.
So.....I am looking at the typical Cherokee mange, and really don't like it.
I want to start prepping it for paint by removing the clearcoat. My weekend is completely free, which is rare.
The finish I am planning is a good CARC 686, so finish perfection is not necessary, but I want good adhesion. Once I pull the clearcoat off I am going to be sanding it. But with that flaking of the clearcoat, I don't want to see the new finish flaking off because of shoddy clearcoat.
Advice?

Yup, they make some stuff to remove it, but if wouldnt use it. Its hard to get it all off when your finished and it will interfere with your new paint and make it peel eventually. A good sanding block and a good sheet of aggressive sand paper with be the best way to go!
