Ok so as a few people on here know I sucked water thru my intake twice and thought I had screwed the motor up. Well I cleaned my throttle body and holly **** she runs better then ever no more backfires no more bogging down no shutting down when stopping quickly no more engine troubles. Never knew a dirty throttle body could cause all these issues. I have a high idle but I need to adjust the butterfly stop screw but thats will be on a later date.

 

Did you just use carb cleaner? Did you pull it off or leave it on?

 

I removed it and cleaned it with valvaline heavy duty carb and throttle body cleaner. I used the entire can lol. Reinstalled using black RTV.

 

Regular maintenance item. Glad you did it.

You can chase butterflys all you want but that won't fix the vacuum leak.

 

The butterfly may BE the "vacuum leak"!!

 

Holly crap I shoulda listened to you about 3-4 months ago! How often should this be done tho?

 

Thats exactly what my leak is I can see that its out of adjustment but the alen head is stripped so I may just get another throttle body if I have to. Really dont wanna do that tho.

 

I get it now. The throttle butterfly screw is no longer adjustable...

Ever think of bending the tang it rests on to get your adjustment?
