Default choking itself?

Jeep died today, itll crank and not turn over, now that I have replaced the pump, it'll turn over but once you release the key it'll die, as long as I'm holding the key in the ign spot it'll run and run my starter. Also once I put it in gear it turns off either way.

New or replaced within a year
Fuel pump
Cps
Tps
Iac
Plugs
Wires
Dist cap and rotor
Ecu
Coil
Starter
Multifunction and ignition switch.
...

Out of ideas.
Help please.

Bypass the fuel pump ballast resistor on the driver's side inner fender near the air cleaner and see what happens.

3/4" by 3" long off-white ceramic resistor with a wire plugged into each end, mounted on the driver's side inner fender near the air cleaner box.

So unplug from resistor, connect wires together and then give it good crank?
Correct?

Could it be a solenoid? It dies once the starter kicks off. And the starter wont engage if it's gear, since my NSS is still in place.
I feel like it is purely electrical, everything mechanical wants to run.

Yes, ignition switch is definitely in play here. Let us know if a new one resolves it; I think it might.

New one didn't solve it.
I recently replaced my turn signal switch though, which invoked removing the key cylinder, could something have broken off during since. Its been a week since the T/s switch was replaced and it ran fine for 500 miles.

Someone suggested a can position sensor? Could this be a culprit?

Need to focus on your biggest clue. That the engine runs while the key is in the START position.

If that is the case, it is not likely to be caused by a sensor.

Still sounds like something in the column.

I agree with TJ.

And, the fact that Renix Jeeps don't have cam sensors. They have a sync generator in the dizzy that is for injector firing sequence only. If your sync generator was bad, you probably wouldn't even know it.
