Cherokee won't start anymore.
I started having trouble with my '91 cherokee last friday. It took me two tries to start it. I started it four more times that day with no problems untill that evening and I got gas that afternoon so I know it has fuel. I had to tow it back that evening. I changed the spark plugs and cleaned the fuel injectors. It started and i was able to get to school and back the next day. The day after that it wouldn't start so I changed the fuel filter. Once again it got me to and from school the next day but then wouldn't start that evening. What should I go to next? I need some good advice here.
When I turn the key, I can hear it turning but it wont start. Sometimes it will try to start and I can quit turning the key and just pump the gas to get it to fully start, but it usually kills soon after that.

Check the fuel sending unit first, they go bad all the time on XJ's. Try priming the fuel pump a good 5x before starting. Do this by turning the key all the way to the ON position, 1 notch before it turns over, without starting it. Do it 5x or so, then try to start it. This is the easiest and its free so start here.

Do you buy gas at the same place give it a shot of starting fluid and see if it pops kinna sounds like water in the fuel. If the plugs are wet try lighting them with a lighter. Your saying it stopped completely after you filled it up just somting to look at.

Needed it soon and couldn't keep tinkering with it to figure out what was wrong so I took it to a mechanic. The crankshaft positioning sensor and distributor had to be replaced. Good job guys.
