cherokee wont start after bliazzard.
so while we were getting hit with the storm sunday night i went outside to go start my jeep and noticed that my lights were dim and my dash was indicating rear hatch open, so i fig i left my hatch open and it drained my battery so i closed my hatch and hoped for my alternator to charge it over night. next morning nothing. so i jumped it and it started up but if i would let go of the gas it would bog down and shut off. wont start again. for the small time it was on the my cel was off which is normally on cuz of my o2 and it read that the battery was at 14. 2 real cold nights in december when i was drivin home from work late night i started my jeep up with no problem but as i bagan to drive i noticed it read check guages and i would look and it would say my battery was at 9 and you could hear a sqeak but never left me stranded. what could be wrong? maybe just a new battery?

I would replace the serpentine belt but it really sounds like you have a bad alternator. Turn the truck on and remove the positive lead on your battery. If the truck dies then you have a bad alternator. If not then you have a bad battery.

Stalling is a common cause of a marginal battery.
Have your battery LOAD TESTED. That is the only conclusive way of determining battery condition.
That final discharge may have been the death of the battery.
Then with a new battery, ensure that the charging system is working properly. The target should be around 14 volts, give or take a bit with a good battery in it.
