Default Cherokee Vibes

Hi guys. My dad has a '93 Cherokee 2.5L w/ a 5 speed behind it. We started noticing a weird vibration throughout the entire vehicle when driving around 55-65 mph....Don't know what to look for but I figured y'all might be able to help.

Any idea? Also, there is an annoying racket coming from underneath it. Sounds like metal vibrating against metal.....Ideas on that?

Hello,
This rattle sound you say could be your cat converter getting clogged or on its last life.. Could also be your exhuast hangers getting old and hitting against the tank heat shield or the trans bracket.

As for the vibrations it could be a number of things, alignment, wheels off balance, bad bushings, and a few others. When did you last inspect your wheels, have them rotated, balanced, etc.

Could be a case of death wobble, but im not to familiar with it, only had it happen a couple times but not in my jeep.

98Jeep, Where could I take it to have that stuff inspected? I wouldn't know what to look for.

xjmudd, yes a 3" lift. I don't know about the u-joints either. I'm not the one who drives it....

You can take it any reputable service shop in your area that can handle suspension and drive train. Just look in the yellow book. You could also ask a local member on here for help. Also if I can not figure something out I take to the Jeep dealer or the custom jeep shop up the road.

no lowering kit....Now I know why it was recommended to install....
We didn't order it with the kit and should have....

After we get one we'll take it to a shop to have it aligned and inspected
