cherokee no start

cherokee no start
so started jeep up fine this morning backing out my drive way than sparks came from the ignition switch area. and death to the eep. now trying to figure out causes of the sparks/ won't start at all . when i put key in and turn all i get is the warning tone from the door being open. no clicks no nothing. any buddy got ideas?

Sparks from around the key area or sparks from around the ignition switch that is mounted on top of the steering column down toward the firewall? If the latter, probably a melted switch or connector. You can unplug the connector and visually examine as a start.
Stock wiring for the accessory circuit is barely adequate on our XJs and it is not uncommon for things to melt at the switch.
Let us know what you find.

yeah so far no luck, could it be a relay or fuse? I've check all my fuses they all seem good. I've disco'd the plugs to where the key is inserted. i got no power what so ever when i turn the key. …must've burnt some wires…not very good with wiring crap. hmm

Yes explanation on where the sparks came from.the switch where you put the key in is all mechanical no power there.The wiring harness for the blinkers and cruise control run through the column so maybe something happened there

yeah meaning what tho..the sparks came from that area not sure where exactly. but around the ignition switch….so the two wire bundles

I get no display. no crank at all. only thing that i get is the stupid door open buzzing. starter is good. battery is good. IGNITION switch is replaced/new. terminal or wires going into the switches are good . . .
