cd player ?
This may sound really bad lol but i wanted to know if anyone has installed a cd player in thier jeep and what is the right way to do it. I believe i am hooking the wires up right but would like to know for sure.I know this is a stupid question lol but thanks for any help i just cant get it to turn on

The first thing you should check is your ground. Make sure before anything that you have your ground wire hooked up correctly. Then and only then connect your power lead wire. Not doing this correctly can lead to a short that will fry the CD's players built in fuse and probably end up doing more damage to the player.

Jeep Harness --> CD Receiver
Brown/Light Blue --> Green
Brown/Red --> White
Light Blue/Red --> Nothing (cap off)
Orange/Black --> Nothing (cap off)
Dark Blue/Red --> Grey/Black
Dark Blue/Orange --> Purple/Black
Bark Blue/White --> Purple
Violet -->Grey
Violet/White --> Red
Pink --> Yellow
Dark Green --> White/Black
Brown/Yellow --> Green/Black
Black --> Black

The power wires are the ones in bold (violet/White for fused ignition switch output (ACC/Run) where the Pink wire is for a constant power so that you don't lose your presets when you key off the car. I'd check he violet/White if you cannot get the receiver to turn on at all.

Hay man, let us know. I hope it helps. Also, there should be a fuse on your receiver so if you are struggling to get it to run and it is wired correctly, check your fuses.

For future reference, i went by AZ and picked up a stereo wiring adapter for 8 bucks. Works well, although my replacement cd player is not a high wattage system. For straight aftermarket replacements it has served me well though.
