I really dont like how the AC compressor runs while you have the defrost setting on. I was wondering if anyone has ever wiring the compressor to me manually turn off. I was thinking connecting the wire the runs to the compressor clutch to a on/off toggle switch, then running the other post of the switch back to the compressor clutch.

 

Sure, if you like foggy windows switch it off.

 

I'm fully aware why the compressor still runs when you use the defrost heater. But if I want to use only heater defrost id like to turn the compressor off. I was just wondering if anyone has ever thought of and successfully did this. Just not sure if a relay would be involved or a heavy duty toggle switch would be enough.

 

30 amp relay is cheap enough so why not.
