A/C Expansion valve question

A/C Expansion valve question
96 Classic. I have a ticking sound that I believe it starts at the a/c expansion valve. Sometimes it goes away but it always comes back. Hot and cold air seem to be working fine. When it is ticking you can feel it if you grab the ac lines. Any ideas?
