Default c-clip axles

wat model years have c-clip axles? just need to know cuz ima pull the front axle shafts in my 96 to change the u joints and need to know if i got to pull the cover too

What axle are you talkign about? AFAIK none of the D30s are C-clips. C-Clips started in the D35 in XJs I think around 89 or 90. C8.25 I think are always C-clip.

If you're replacing your D30 shafts go for 96+ to get bigger U-joints

FWIW,
Remove both wheels.
Lower one side as much as possible and jack the opposite side as high as possible.
Remove the high-side axle, make your repairs, then re-install.
Then switch hi for low and do the other side.

Doing so will keep your oil in the diff.

Brilliant! I'll have to remember this trick, the less gear oil and I interact, the better.
