Default Buying 2001 Cherokee Sport 4.0 with 341,000 miles!

It's in good shape. Im just needing a good vehicle to go to and from work and to pull a pop-up camper. It does have a slight rod knock but goes away after 5 minutes of being started. Is there anything else I should be aware of? New to Jeeps. Thanks!

I would pass on it unless your willing to rebuild the engine, trans and both axles real soon and its dirt cheap because of the miles. Most of us skip the 00-01 years because they got a cylinder head that can crack but that many miles its probably been replaced.

if he is willing to come down on the price to maybe 3-400 then it might be worth it. you can get a replacement engine on craigslist for pretty cheap if you have to tools to do the swap. you could also look at rebuilding the motor wile its in the jeep, again if you have the tools and know how to do it.

You can offer him scrap yard pricing. That's all it's worth with those miles.

For a grand it would have to be spotless inside and out.

^What he said^ and I do mean SPOTLESS!! because it will cost you $5-6k to rebuild everything if you get by cheap.

Agreed with all above. $1,000 is too much for that many miles. He needs to cut that price in half.
