Budget Builds: What Junkyard Parts Will Fit Cherokee?

Need some more interior light. 2000+ Monte Carlo had the rear view mirror that includes two map lights. I paid $4.95 for the mirror at the local u-pull-it yard.
I would say any GM product will work, but I got mine out of a Monte Carlo.
The mounting is exactly the same as the XJ, so installing it takes about 30 seconds. Power source for the lights, you can tap into the lighted visors, overhead console, or the OEM interior light on the roof.

Does anyone know if 96-01 leaf springs are all compatible?(same exact size)
That way I'll just need to find a jy cherokee newer than mine.

A few questions.
1) what is different between earlier and later model XJs for the ZJ gas tank skid to work? Is it fuel tank shape or is the chassis mounts different? I have a 93 and have to replace the gas tank anyway, perhaps I should just grab both the tank and skid from a ZJ?
2) I just picked up a set of s15 springs out of an 88. Is there anything different to using these springs in a bastard pack? The lower leaf looks thick like an addaleaf. There are only like three other leaves.
3) I know this isnt a junkyard question but is there a way to just add an extension to the rear brakeline? The junkyars here wont allow the brake lines to be removed from rear axles.
Will a fin type trans cooler from a ZJ be of any bennifit to me? Currently the only trans cooling I have is whatever is provided for in the stock radiator. Already have it, but I dont know what pressures are involved to know if I can just use rubber hose and a Y to run it in parallel or what.
My overall.goal is 3" of lift. Already have rustys 3"HD springs and shocks for the front, and some sort of lift shocks for the rear, though I dont know what lift they are for.

1) mounting is different IIRC. I have no idea if a ZJ tank will fit in an XJ but i'm guessing probably not. The skid can be modified to fit the XJ tank.
2) no difference. The bottom spring is the overload spring, and is typically left out of a bastard pack.
3) no way to add an extension. You need a longer line. Brake lines are not something I recommend getting from a junkyard anyways. Get a new one. 1995 YJ rear brake lines are good for 3-4" of lift and cheap from the auto parts store.
4) yes. Any auxiliary cooler will have a benefit. #1 transmission killer is heat. Pressures are low you just need to grab some 3/8" transmission line. Run it in series with the existing radiator cooler [ TRANS -> AUX COOLER -> RADIATOR -> TRANS ]

Thanks. So I have a theory, If I find an XJ at the jy with the same distance from fender to center of wheel as I have now (saggy rear, looks stock even though I have a 2'' on rear)I should get my actual lift height.Sound good?

Thank you so much, that really helps! One other question I wanted to throw out and forgot. I currently have an 8.25 27 spline rear. I will eventually put in an 8.8 I have laying around, but fab time is limited. I was wondering if converting it to 29 spline shafts could be done by just replacing the shafts and the carrier (probibly just replace with a locker), or if the bearings and seals have to be replaced as well. I would feel much more secure with those drum brakes if the shafts were stronger, and it wouldnt require as much rework as the 8.8 conversion, which would also require front axle regearing.

Easier and more cost effective to just swap an entire axle housing and all.

yea just measure. Stock rear height should be 17" from center of the hub to bottom of the fender flare.
