I'm confused, isn't a D35 stronger than a D30? I recently had my ball joints replaced, and during the alignment, they determined that my front axle is slightly bent, not bad enough that they couldn't align it or that you can tell in any way.
So I'm starting to look for a replacement front axle that is 98-99% bolt in, with little or no modification, and that's why I asked about a TJ D35. I'd love to swap a D44 or a toyota axle, but they're hard to find and tend to be pricey.
Any suggestions?

A D30 is a perfectly suitable axle for tires under 35" for anyone who isn't jumping their rig.

Be sides that they are dana 44 center section with dana 30 rest of the axle. Not much of an upgrade compaired to the older dana 44s

Hey all, noob question here concerning the ZJ steering parts. Should I just get #22 and #24 in this diagram http://www.jeep4x4center.com/jeep-st...herokee-zj.htm ? Or are only certain parts needed? Don't know if the ends are different but mine are shot anyway. And just to clarify, this all bolts right in, correct?
I guess that's technically a few questions.

The 8.8 is spring under so the welding of spring perches in spring over the axle is required also the pinion uses a a flange to mount the rear drive line would need the adaptor u-joint to flange. And shock mounts but don't quote me on that.

On 4.0L models, #16 is only used at the pitman arm. Smaller TREs are used with a very long adjusting sleeve for the tie rod. Just like the XJ. On V8 models, one side of the tie rod is a very long TRE, and the adjusting sleeve and smaller TRE are the same as the drag link.
Big ol' thread here https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/zj-...upgrade-22717/

Thanks again, much obliged.
Edit: I'll ask another question here instead of starting another thread.
I've googled MasterPro (O'reilly's house brand) VS Moog, lot of reading and opinions there. MP is 1/2 the price of Moog. Now if I was just replacing stock components with OEM replacements I'd probably go with Moog. But if I'm replacing stock XJ parts with already beefier ZJ parts then would the MasterPro be sufficient? That's what I'm thinking, but WTF do I know.
I guess I'll add that this isn't my DD nor is it a hardcore trail rig, just a low key weekend toy.
