it will fit. You have to solve issues with the attachment of the overhead lights and how to hold it up in the rear though

I put a 01 in my 89.
The 97+ are shorter. So you will have to trim. Why do you want a older headliner?

So I'm thinkin about doin the center console swap on my 95 with one from a newer one. Is it as easy as it sounds? Or what all needs to be done? Also is there a difference between one from a 4x4 compared to a 2 wheel drive. Mine is only 2 wheel. Thanks!

'97+ parking brake handle is offset towards the driver's side. I think the underlying bracketry is the same for the transmission and transfer case shifter. Without a transfer case you'll need a blank plate to fill the hole the shifter goes through.

Not sure if there are other issues than the brake handle.
