They can be stack and used like a coil spacer. But only two anymore is real ghetto and not good.

They are ridiculously easy to make. And cheap too! (If you have a welder)

Several companies sell bushing kits with the sleeve and bushing if you don't have access to a lathe. First, you purchase a set of stock width upper control arm bushings from the vendor of your choice. Then, you buy a couple feet of 1.5" .25" wall DOM and a foot of DOM with a slightly smaller ID than the OD of the bushinngs. Most steel shops will sell you cut to length pieces if you know the lengths you need. Notch the arm and weld it to the bushing sleeve (without the bushings inside). For the axle mounts, use 3 pieces of .25" plate to make a U shaped bracket and drill holes in the sides for the bolt. And, obviously, weld that to the other end of the arm. If you have free access to a welder, and can get steel for a good price, you can make these on the cheap.

92-95 years should work the 96 wont cause that year is when the operating system went from obd1 to obd2 and the ignition switch change mounting locations. A buddy of mine found that out the hard way.

Due to having a rare(and well known crappy GM 2.8l CRD 60* v6 engine) could I possibly swap out for the 89 Taurus SHO 3.0v6 60*? These old sedans can wallop out 220 horse power and could match a 5.0 gt mustang in 1/4. With the mustang only winning by 1/3 of a second.

Could I reliably swap this engine into my jeep? I know it seems like a dumb question due to the Taurus being fwd. Normally I would scoff at the idea of a conversion attempt with a fwd efi engine into a rwd/4x4 vehicle. But swapping to 4.0 simply won't work due to the bell housing not lining up. So I am stuck with v6. And 220 HP sounds a lot better then 150-160 HP.

What y'all think? Worth a try? Or move on?

I'd like to point out that I have no first-hand experience in this regard, but I have done some reading about donor motors.

I recommend this article
http://www.offroaders.com/tech/jeep/...conversion.htm
(Specifically the second "Chevy V6" paragraph)

And this article, which is an interesting read for anyone who's curious:
http://www.fourwheeler.com/how-to/en...ne-swaps-ever/
(Specifically the second swap, "GM 60-degree V-6")

I advise you read both. They have different opinions on the motor

I would think a 4.3l gm V6 would be a better option. I know the 3.4l gm v6 is more of a straight forward swap for anything with the 2.8 v6

So I took a look at a Dakota alt today for the 2.5L engine. This is what the back looks like.

How would I go about getting this to work on the jeep?
