Has anyone used the T-Bird coils? If so was it V6 or V8 and how much lift did you get out of them exactly?..

it's probably possible, but why would you do it? If you need a new radiator, don't chance it on a JY model that could have leaks or holes. Get a new one (radiator barn has good prices). A lot of people have converted the closed cooling system on early XJs to open systems like on later XJs - do a search you'll find lots of information on the topic.

Default V8 springs

Get springs out of a grand cherokee, wagoneer, or grand wagoneer. Basicly something from one with a v8. There stiffer and give you a more wheel clearence. cost me 30 bucks at the junk yard.

already on the list bud. The v8 Upcountry coils give about 1"-1.5" lift on a stock XJ

That's one of those trial and error things. Try it and you'll find out. One thing's for sure though.... you'll atleast get lift out of them.

But really, if you get too much lift out of either component you can always adjust them to level it out. If the front is too high, add more leafs to the rear to lift it up. If the rear is too high, either take leafs out of the pack or buy some quality coil spring spacers for the front (Which are fairly inexpensive). Good luck!

5. WJ Rotors/Calipers = bigger brakes and more stopping power (will fit 15" rims)
7. XJ '95+ brake booster and master cylinder = dual diaphragm
5. XJ '97+ doors onto older cherokees = one piece windows and better mirrors
6. XJ overhead console = most commonly found in '00-01 or higher trim level, provides space for switches etc.

Are those items above all direct bolt-in to a 1992 XJ? Do the 97+ doors apply to front and back doors?

If I can't find the brake parts in a junkyard can I just go to a shop and buy the parts to fit a newer model and end up with the same brake upgrade? I drive in the mountains a lot and I like having good brakes.

7. '97+ center console = can be made to fit '96 and older, gives you cupholders!

What needs to be done to make this fit?

Thanks!

I'm on my phone so I can't really search for pages for you, but just do some searching. There's a lot of info out about the topics your interested in. Just google the swaps and you should come up with some decent articles. I know if you search on google "jeep xj door swap" it will bring up the article from JP Magazine. Good luck and happy searching!

I read the JP article and it really wasn't helpful at all. It didn't go into any specifics whatsoever about what they had to do to get the doors to fit. It was very vague. The most useful thing about it was the wiring diagrams but that doesn't really matter because I'd prefer to keep everything manual.

I did find some good write ups for the brake upgrades. Looks like the brakes are not a bolt on swap at all.

Which part of the brakes? The rear discs should be pretty much bolt on.

The only things you have to do to fit the newer doors is to relocate the striker (And replace with the new style) and adjust the door hinges until the doors line up. It's pretty much just adjusting things.
