Default broken "vacuum" line?

does anybody have any idea what the vacuum line (i think it is a vacuum line) is that comes out of the front axel on the drivers side just off the pumpkin? It runs back under about to the back of the engine then runs up the backside of the engine and I can't see were the other end goes. it was loose and was rubbing on my front drive shaft and has worn thru. I caught it to late, it does not seem to hurt anything that I can see or feel. Is it just a vent for the front axle?

The tube on the pumpkin is a vent. To the pas side you may also have a vac. Disconnect on you axle too.

It's the vent for the front diff.

Vacuum lines to the front axle ended around 1991.

Sure. You should splice it back together and fasten it back up. You don't want water getting in the front diff.

I shouldn't have to check his profile for info and I'm on the app. if the plug on the disco dry rots and falls off it could surely get wraped up in anything. But I did say, if its the pumpkin line thats a vent.
