Default Bored Out Throttle Body

Has anyone tried boring out their throttle body? If so, how much did it cost you to have done? (I neither have the tools or the know how to attempt something like this) Also what sort of improvements did you notice both performance wise (i.e. throttle response, torque, increased power, fuel economy)? Thanks in advance!

Is this something that could be done at a machine shop on the existing throttle body? If so does anyone have a rough estimate of how much it would cost?

I did mine myself last month. Bought a 2 inch round rubber sander attachment for my cheapo drillpress and a bag of assorted sandpaper drums. Took me about 1 hour to remove the TB, remove all the doo-dads and carefully bore it out.

doesnt the manifold opening have to be bored out also or can you just keep it stock for the 63mm TB?

Now I'm not sure if theres a lip on the intake after you've done this but I would imagine there would be. It would be very beneficial to you to taper the intake to fit the bore of the TB. Almost like a air horn.....sorta speak. Otherwise the air is hitting that lip and bouncing all over the place which is horrible.

Yup. I think its amusing. I could take it off and round off the sharp edges on the IAC. I tell people it's my wastegate from the turbo..

I threw in a airaid helix throttle body spacer, wich has spiral groves in it and is supposed to "spin" the air making it move better. I can hear a whistle after i put it on, the package says im supposed to but I can barely notice a difference in response or anything does anyone know much about that?
