blower motor
I have had 2 new blower motors in the past 3 years. Heat/vent/ac when it's cold - When it's hot outside i have to push the wiring harness in the blower motor for the fan to work. do you think that i need a new blower motor wiring harness? when in push the male end it it works but when i take it out it does not - may be because it has been messed with so much - should i get another wiring harness and pray?

Just throwing out a idea. Do you think that maybe you could have bent something installing them? And maybe when you push on the wiring it's just enough pressure to move the motor??? Just a thought.

When it's not working test it with jumpers directly from the battery to the blower motor.
If when connecting the blower directly to the battery you don't need to mess with the motor for it to work. This will tell you the prob is with the harness wires and not the motor. If it's the wires, then check the ends that plug on to the motor. If they are bouncing around and only making intermittant contact. That could be what is killing the motor(s). If it is the cause, the harness most likely can be repaired.

I just recently had the same problem. I ended up taking my blower motor out and inspecting it. There are two terminals that connect to your wire harness. Each of those has two connections inside the motor. You can see these from openings in the motor housing (you have to remove the black plastic cover). One of the connections is to a larger solid copper coil (approx. 16 awg) and the other is to a much smaller solid copper wire (approx. 24 awg). On mine, the larger was corroded beyond repair and the smaller was completely disconnected, but would occasionally make contact if I wiggled the connector around. New motor fixed it.
Well, sorta... the motor works now, but I have other issues.

i have had 2 new blower motors installed. it just seems that when i push the male end of the wiring harness in the motor it works if i hold pressure on it - when i let go it stops - i think that i have a bad wiring harness - the resistor has been replaced - i called the local dealer and they said that a whole new blower motor and wiring harness has to be installed - am I wrong or do i just need a new wiring harness and how hard is it to replace? - thanks - gotta new child and dont want to be cold in the winter - thanks

Test the motor with jumper wires directly to the battery. If it works as it should with the jumpers, then the motor is OK.
I say again, if it is your harness; it most likely can be repaired.
A dealer most times will not repair a wiring harness, only replace it.
Its Risk Management 101. Less risk of a "Come Back" with a replacement vs a repair.
