This has been happening for about a 2 months now. When I turn my blinker either way it will blink for a few clicks and stop sometimes it will start back up and sometimes it won’t even blink at all. (And yes I know how when you turn and readjust the wheel it switched off.) My hazard lights work completely fine.

 

The most likely cause is a faulty combination flasher. This is located in the dash above the driver's left knee. You can access the relay by removing the panels around the bottom of the steering column. You will find a lot of info and videos on the inter-web if you search "jeep cherokee combination flasher".
