Better headlights over 'stock'
Ok I'm am confused. Please verify this for me because I'm am idiot I guess. The putco harness is plug and play with the stock lights AND h4 lights as long as you upgrade the housings?

look at pics
this is three prong socket like Putco
stock Headlight
H4 headlight
See the harness will work for both stock and H4
H4 is the bulb type that go into a H4 housing
This is a bi xenon HID bulb that is shielded, with High/low beam that goes in a H4 housing..
This is a HID bulb that is not shielded. This is the kind of bulb that blinds everyone because they give off light as high+low at the same time.

^^^^ this should just be a sticky as it explains everything with pictures and what the sealed lights look like vs the replacements and that the harness is seriously plug and play. Thank you for posting it for everyone.

Nice deal on that harness from Amazon.
I think what ill do is pop in that putco harness, possibly when i do my tune-up, and then get H4 bulbs later, as it would be a considerably smaller chunk of change.
Thing is, are the SilverStar sealed bulbs any good? i think they run 25 bucks a pop, but at that price its about 50% of the H4 upgrade... Kinda a waste if it would just be a hold-over until i get the H4 ones.

I went with Autopal E code housings, Genssi LED bulbs, and an upgraded ceramic harness. The light output is amazing and a nice, clean white. The only issue I've had is that when the lights are on my FM radio reception goes to hell. Think it's a grounding issue, just haven't had a chance to track it down. Overall I am super pleased, and it only cost about $160.

Really glad to see that 3 years after I wrote it, that my headlight writeup is still helping people see a LOT better for really cheap!
Makes me feel good to have contributed something meaningful to the forum that has helped me so much!

stock harness and stock sealed beams
upgraded harness and stick sealed beams. Definite improvement. I'll post more when I get the housings in.
