I have two 8 inch unpowered in my 94. I have a small Kenwood amp hooked up to both of them, to a JVC head unit. I think they sound pretty good, I'm an audiophile myself. I got them for free, so I can't complain. Just know that the smaller the cone of a subwoofer, the tighter the sound will be, but the boominess and the overhead sound won't be as great. If you simply want your music to sound good and more balanced, the bazooka's will be great. They do have a nice kick to them. (The way mine are done anyway)

But if you wan't a rumbling bass machine, the tubes won't be your best bet. Haha.

I would recommend them. They sound pretty awesome in my car. I can send you specs of the amp and the tubes if you want.

I have had an 8" powered one for something like 16 years. It sounds pretty good in some installs and pretty poor in others. I'd say in the XJ it might work pretty well since there is nothing isolating the load space from the cabin, but mine is in the garage on a shelf, not in the Jeep.

It's only for bass fill though, not what a real sub would do for you.

I also have a little Pioneer powered sub that will fit under a seat that I might stick in the XJ as it's just as good and much less intrusive into the space inside the vehicle.

Obviously Its not gonna slam like 2 10's or 2 12's with a seperate amp.. but if you want just a tiny bit more bass than stock and dont wanna take up alot of room then DO IT! for 100.00 range you can get a small sub and amp used off your local CL youd prob be more happy with it... but yea bazooka are cool for what they are.

For saving space and for the low price they are alright, like others have said. The non-powered ones are better because you can give them more oomph.
