Default Axle Help

Ive tried to search the forums but no luck. I have a 97 xj and im trying to figure out what axle I have, Im stuck between the D35 and the Chrysler, they look so damn close! the xj is at my father in laws so I cant just walk outside and look at it. Trying to get a lift ordered. Can anyone tell me what the axle is?? Thanks for the help.

It looks like the Chrysler 8.25. I hope this helps you out.

As we've learned, they look very similar, but the little lip on the bottom is what gives it away as a Chrysler.

I'm pretty green, (on the various axles and drive-lines) but have gathered the straight line on the bottom is the 8.25, which is good.
