Default Axel postion for oil pan removal

I got the sump and pan separated but can't quite get it out from over the axel. Did a search and there seems to be quite a few different opinions on how best to accomplish this. Currently mine is on jack stands with no tires with the axel suspended. It looks like I need to pull the lower shock mounts to get some extra drop on the axel. What is everyone's experience with this.

Let the axle droop, if that doesn't work as is, remove the items listed.

Jack up the body (from the front) and let the axle droop, that'll give you enough room to get the pan off.

Huh?.... I didn't have to disconnect any of that to get my pan off. But my tires were still on too, maybe the extra weight had everything fully dropped?

Yeah, I have never disconnected anything and I leave the wheels on. Just jack up the front of the body and let the axle droop, like was said before. There's no sense in doing work that doesn't really need to be done.
