Default anyone ever thought of this?

ok, its not for my current jeep, but sometime this summer im gettin a beater to play with and i was trying to think of how to make a homebrew snorkel. well while i was brainstorming, i thought about how if i make a homebrew snorkel, that i will no longer have a air filter. So, what if i made a box that the snorkel runs in to that has the filter in it, but is sealed water tight? would that affect the airflow too much?

go outside, pop your hood and look at your air box. that will answer this question.

I would think that if you made a box water tight..it would have to be air tight to..

The snorkel should go through the fender and into the bottom of the airbox... leaving you with a filter.

sorry, had no idea thats how a snorkel works, i always figured there either was no filter, or it was at the top of the snorkel...
