alternator problem ahhhh help

i think my alternator is shot will i possibly need a new battery

possibly...how long have you been running it with a bad alternator? if the battery becomes too discharged, or repeatedly charged and discharged more than normal, it might be unable to hold a charge any longer.

Best way to know is to get it load tested at your local auto parts store. They'll test both the alternator and the battery

You can have them both tested at just about any auto parts store. Your battery should charged up some before being tested for best results.

That makes two of us...damn the man at jeep that decided to put a critical electrical system component on the BOTTOM of an off-road vehicle.

guess it is time for an upgrade...get the Grand Cherokee V8 Alternator....136 amps. i love mine!

Yup, have a parts store test both the charging system AND the battery (load testing). Then you'll know.
