Airbag light
OK so today I washed all the grime off my steering wheel with some leather cleaner. I went a little heavy with the cleaner because the steering wheel was caked with grime. Dirty outdoor job with no way to wash up till I get home
I went to the store this evening and my airbag light is on. It goes out for a second when I first start it up, but comes right back on and stays on. I checked for codes and either my reader doesn't do the SRS or there is nothing there. My horn and cruise control both work.
What are the chances that the leather cleaner has gotten into the connection for the airbag? I really don't have the money right now to start throwing at parts in a hope to find the cause, not to mention everything is closed for a day or two also clock springs for cruise control are stupidly expensive, cheapest I have seen is just just shy of $275

OK so it looks like my clock spring is toast, that will teach me to over indulge in cleaning fluid inside the cabin
Does anyone know what other vehicles share the same clock spring? On my next day off I will be calling all the local and semi local JYs to try find a used clock spring till i can afford a new one.

I have OEM USED ones that I sell regularly to people local as well as on here. I have cruise CS's, non-cruise CS's, buttons for 97-98, buttons for 99-01, as well as servos. ALL CLEANED, TESTED, and CENTERED (clocksprings), guaranteed to work.
While 15 years old, still a LOT cheaper than new. The only place I'd suggest getting new if you go that route is from the dealer, which is around the price you posted; $275.
I would make sure you verify it is the clockspring though, there's 3 wires on the back of a cruise CS; one that plugs into the airbag, one that plugs into the cruise buttons, and the ground for the airbag. It's easy to take it off and test the continuity of it.

It doesn't have to last long, just until I find a second job during the slow season, or hours at work pick up. Starting next week I drop from 24 hours a week to on call and no guaranteed hours till mid or end of February

It is not so much the airbag not working it is the loss of the cruise control. It has only been a few days and it is driving me batty A working horn comes in handy too with the number of poor drivers that rely on their car's accident avoidance systems to keep them out of accidents
