Have to replace my tie rods and upper control arm bushings. Any recommendations? I saw somewhere someone used a different model of jeep tie rods that were stronger and cheaper. 1999 Cherokee 2wd

Heres a good write up. All parts listed for ZJ swap. As for the bushings, poly is more rigid and will be better for "performance" but rubber are (generally) cheaper and will give you a softer feel by absorbing more vibration than poly. This is a bigger deal for things like engine mounts and suspension, but you may notice the difference..

Replace the arms, not just the bushings. The arms are so flimsy it's very easy to damage them when removing and installing the bushings. Don't buy cheap eBay arms, they're worse than the factory junk. You can get Moog arms from Rockauto for a decent price.

I'll second that:
I ordered a set of "performance" sway bars from Quadratec (I think..) a long time ago. They were cheap and in no way performance, but I didn't know the difference at the time. Snapped them both within two weeks while on pavement just from taking bumps/frost heaves..

Has anyone ordered from Rock Auto? I looked at reviews with better business bureau and they had a lot of complaints.

I've made at least 100 orders with RA and never had a problem. You just have to be careful and read descriptions so you know you're ordering the right part. Just dropped $400 worth of Trailblazer parts with them last night.

Well if you spend $400 on them then you just like them. Maybe I will order from there then.

I do about half of my car part shopping with them (Amazon #2, local NAPA #3). Great brands, good prices. Shipping can add when items are coming from multiple warehouses.

It can also be tedious and annoying to return a part, but make sure to buy the right part the first time and its not a problem unless you received an actual defective part. I'm sure they get a lot of goobers who buy stuff without checking first and then go Internet Warrior mode to get their money back. Avoid crap parts and buy good brands, which is why you would be there in the first place. Buying crappy brands for less doesn't make sense if you have to pay for round-trip shipping too.

I went to look at part numbers for the steering and there are four tie rods listed for my jeep but I only have three on it. Any ideas?

Right hand drive jeep? Never thought of that, so which tie rod then? They have two listed for pitman arm and two different part numbers.
