I would run the 2nd one since its stock im not shure what the deal is with those flappy doors on the first one but seems to be some kind of relief valves to release back pressure so the box don't blow up lol

Yeah....those doors look like waste gates for a supercharger! Something that supplies constant pressure not controlled by engine rpm, like a high speed electric fan. Anyway, it's not needed for a normal breathing 4.0.

So while not useful.. I'd keep it as a conversation piece or see if maybe a guru knows.

LoL....... I'm with tiny you can see the ribs under the flaps on the top , purpose unknown seems you would have to prop them open for any extra air to flow .
