You have to take the filter off anyway to make it easier. Just a wee bit stays in the adapter. No worries.

And if you have a Fram or other POS filter there won't be any oil in that anyway.
Lol, no rhino-lined filter's on this machine since I met you.

Quote: Yeah... Plus I hear they used red loctite on the adapter too so your life will be a lot easier without the T60. $10 is the least of your worries

Exactly.....

About $10. Having done both HO and Renix, I'd rather pay $10 for o-rings and not have to deal with that T60 that was tightened too much at the factory.
Looks like I need to add about 30% to your dealership prices. Three o-rings cost me $16.

I used to work at the dealership I bought the o-rings from. Perhaps I got a discount.
33002970-$4.75
33002971-$3.70
33002972-$4.45

Retail prices.

Yep. And if you wanna spend another $5 at the dealership, get a 53007563AB oil filter nipple and then you can use the standard thread filters which are more readibly available.

Well I don't know if the OP fixed his leak but by the looks of it I fixed mine. Turned out to be the adapter o-rings, the were so hard and had been squared that at first I thought they had disintegrated from time. Put the new ones on added a quart of oil to make up for what I had lost and, so far, haven't seen a single fresh drop under my jeep.

Well, good for you. Not the rear main seal? Imagine that.

No guarantees yet on the rear main, but there is definitely a significant change in the amount of oil under my engine. I'll give it a few more days before I poke my head under again just in case it's leftover from the leak and/or replacing the o-rings.
