adjustable coil spacers
i was thinking of getting some adjustable coil spacers for my 91 cherokee. i was thinking they would work great for the added weight of a bumper. rather than buying new springs. i have a 3" inch lift on now but i am getting some RE 4.5" for the rear. i figured that the spacers would work the front. anyone out there use them or should i just get new 5" springs for the front

the adjustable spacers that I saw were a bit spendy in the neighborhood of 250 I thought that they looked pretty handy but not for that kind of scratch.

I have personally seen adjustable spacers stripped after wheeling, they didn't drop, but the threads where messed up enough that they were locked in one spot and could be adjusted anymore.
Adjustables are for ricers so leave them to them and get some solid spacers.

Check out the vendor forum, Howler_GT has some solid metal coil spacers for sale for a very good price. And as far as you steering goes, you'll just have to see how it feels, but if it needs it you might have to do a drop pitman arm...

I plan on running the JKS Adjustables. Everything I have read about them is that as long as you keep the threads semi-clean and corrosion free, they work awesome and are perfect for being able to compensate for heavier bumpers, winches, etc. And alot of the guys beat on their rigs pretty hard. There are always going to be the odd case of failure but even then, it usually comes down to maintenance.
