I bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee with a 5 speed, has red paint, gray interior four doors and a 3 inch lift with 31 wranglers. I am considering selling it but I want to make sure I am getting a good deal or not ripping anyone off. The uni has minimum rust, a few dents here and there, rockers are flawless, I also cut the floor out (as it was the only place that was rusted) and put a new floor in. Has 3.07 gears and 225,000 miles on body and trans 177,000 on engine. Motor is from a 97 but I put all new gaskets in it and a new rear main, then painted the whole thing factory colors, so it looks brand new. Bores looked good so I think its set for another 100,000. Anyone have a good idea what its worth?

 

From my experience, it's worth what someone is willing to pay and what you are willing to accept. Honestly, Cherokee values can be all over the place. Start at about $600 over what you are willing to take and that leaves you room to haggle. I recently picked up a 96 with a bad head gasket plus a good 99 4.0 for $600. Guy wanted $1100 but I am sure he started high. Be careful with Craigslist. Lots of scammers. I use a local FB Jeep page.
