Paint codes?
Hi,
Just finished patching holes in my roof and its ready for some paint, but can't seem to find the color of my jeep anywhere.
Its a 1993 xj and its sort of a light gold.
Anyone know what the color might be or where I could find the paint code?
Doesn't have to be perfect as its on the roof but want to get it pretty close.
Ford Champagne Gold is the nearest thing i've found so far.
Thanks,
Matt.

In my '00 it is written on the white label on the driver's door jamb. Was curious googled around a little. Thinking this might be it: Light Champagne Metallic. Think that could be a gold? These might be the paint codes: AY96KV4, PV4

I've got an '89 with light gold paint. I was having trouble finding paint that was "close enough" as well. After buying two different Duplicolor golds, I ended up finding a Rustoleum that is closer to my color than anything else I tried. I'll go find the can and post the color name a little later.

I use these folks for my spray paint. Very good match.

Edit: If you buy paint from these folks get their clear coat as well.

This is it. Champaigne Mist. Home Depot carries it.
I removed the trim from the bottom of my doors and sprayed from the bend in the sheet metal down. Close enough for me:

Should be on the driver's door on the door jamb on the VIN label, and should be labeled as 'PAINT CODE', followed by a three-digit paint code, that is, unless your driver's door has been replaced, it may have the donor vehicle's VIN label.

You probably won't find the paint code as that was NOT a stock color in 1993. The 1993 colors were Black, Bright White, Poppy Red, Hunter Green Metallic, Electric Blue Metallic, Navajo Turquoise Metallic, Dark Cordovan Metallic, & Jewel Blue Metallic.
