Default 97 no start im lost!

Hey guys I have a 5speed 97 sport with a 4.0 with no spark coming out of the coil. drove home last night running perfectly as normal, tried to start her up 9 hours later before i left for work and she would crank beautifully but nothing. did some research and went down to napa to pick up a cps. replaced it and still nothing. checked fuses, all were fine. i put in a new msd coil 8 months ago. im stuck!

That coil may have took a dump, did your old one go out? Is that the reason for the msd? If not try putting it back on and see if it will start

Double check your ground wires for the coil.

Aftermarket coils do not have the best reputation for our 4.0s. I would pick up a new OEM one

I completely agree that coils like MSD, Accel, etc. are not good choices. Longevity is quite poor in many cases.

Test or replace your coil.

Just out of curiousity what brand coil did you end up going with? I ask because the ones sold by advance and autozone have just as bad if not worse reviews than the msd and accel ones.

Pretty sure he just put back in his old OEM coil once his MSD coil went bad
