It's ok at best. I have one in my rig and as long as it's a can of soda your all good. Anything else just wont hold. You also have a hell of a time setting your e-brake because you cant get it all the way in the up position due to the cup holder design. Good Luck!!

yup, for 3 years i didn't have a single cup holder in my xj.
then i ordered one from the dealer, and they sent me one for a 97+. it wasn't the one i wanted, but installed it anyway. i kinda just snapped it under the shifter bezel. works great and better than that one.

but i also picked one of those ones up from a shop here that actually had it on the shelf for 12 bux.

so now i have four, yup 4 cup holders. woot.

Since we're on this topic...
Anyone swap a late model center console in place of the holder-less one?

I have that one. Seems to work ok. The holes are kinda small, but fits most drinks ok.

They have the one that goes next to the shift bezel on lambertauto.com. I had one before and if you don't superglue it in then if you put a large dunkin iced coffee in it, the cupholder falls off

I HAD the "smash-it-with-the-ebrake" cupholder.

I found on eBay the sidemount.
Drilled and countersunk 2 black trim screws in it and it works awesome.

Mrs Howler has BOTH.

I told her I do not care for "Style A" and that "Style B" would work better.
She said she wanted to try both of them out and she would let me know which she likes better.

That was over a year ago.

It hooks into the top two slots on the passenger side and the brace hooks into the lower slot
