ac quit working, check blower motor fuse under the steering wheel, wasn't blown, checked connection for electric cooler fan and didn't help at all.

are you saying you have no air conditioning? or are you simply just not getting power to your dash switch?

I posted this earlier, don't know what happened to that. Check your resistor bank. The part is readily available and somewhat easy to change out.

i turn the ac on and it doesn't blow anything, just put in a new blower resistor blower pack and still doesn't work.

ok. does it work with the heat on?
you keep saying a/c, so i'm trying to figure out what it is exactly that you are saying.

I have no direct jeep experience, but in this situation I'd look to supply 12v directly to the blower motor to confirm operation.

Cool. It's always a good feeling to find and fix the problem.

wonder why it was unplugged?
i know on my 99 tj, the control unit used to get hot enough to melt the plug and wires. i went through 3 head units and had to splice in a new plug once when i was using it as my daily.
i just wonder if the xj may fall into the same problems. my 99 xj that i used as my latest daily worked fine, but my resistor is shot and i only get power on high.

if your plug looked good, and the back of the head unit where it plugs in looks fine, with no discoloration, then i'd say it should be fine.
maybe the po just forgot to plug it back in if he had it apart. is it still a stock stereo?
