hey guys,

im replacing my key cylinder and since i am this far into the steering column i want to fix my bent out of shape high beam rod, through the time it has bent in odd shapes and i cant figure out how to get it back in or which way it goes. ive been searching a picture of this high beam rod but i cant find it. the jeep had been stolen in the past but found back by previous owner and steering column was pretty messed up all thats left now is this silly rod, if only i could see how its bend i could go a far way. its the part where it meets the turn signal leverage..

i have the old rod completely out and straighten it out but cant seem to figure out how it was bent before.. i have another day to figure this out casue they ordered the wrong key cylinder.

does anyone has a photo of this rod by it self ?

thanks,

- Marc

oh my, what a mission! pffft got it in dont want to do that again naytime soon.

yeah guy at the junkyard told me i had to buy whole steering column but i knew there was one jeep that was already torn apart so guess i was lucky. then i realized a little piece of plastic that sits on the high beam rod inside the column was misisng too and found that too in 3 inches of water at the bottom of that junkyard jeep. had to drop the whole column and readjust high beam switch and ignition switch to get it all back together at home *sigh* but all done now

its a hell of a job but you have front roll seat

if i wasnt this lucky this is what i had in mind,

a bucket with a metal handle, that handle would make a good rod too just needs some bending and puzzling but doable i would say
